Planning Your Stay
Situated in the heart of Dorset, with easy access to all of the top sights and attractions, Minterne Magna is the perfect place to stay. The historic country house was built in the early 1900s – an authentic reconstruction of the original seventeenth-century property, carrying forward many of the traditional features of the former building. The house has been in the Digby family since Admiral Robert Digby purchased the home in 1768. It was previously occupied by Winchester College, John Churchill (father of the first Sir Winston Churchill), and General Charles Churchill.
Today, Minterne House is the family home of Lord Henry Digby, who is opening up three beautiful accommodations to those wanting to explore the estate and experience local history.

- The Bothy – 6 adults plus children

When Lord Digby is in residence, guests are welcome to join a complimentary tour of the house and learn about the History.

Minterne Parva Farm House
Part of the historic Minterne Estate, this area is renowned for the exquisite Minterne Gardens, which are nestled in a Himalayan style valley in the adjacent hamlet. These gardens feature a splendid array of rhododendrons, daffodils, bluebells, primulas, and ornamental cherries, creating a breathtaking spring spectacle beneath towering trees
Manor Farmhouse
Manor Farmhouse is a two-storey traditional country house nestled within the beautiful grounds of Minterne House. A haven of quiet relaxation, it’s the ideal place to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the peace and tranquillity of nature. Surrounded by greenery and with easy access to the iconic Himalayan gardens of Minterne House, Manor Farmhouse is a place where the whole family – including four-legged friends – can get away from it all.
The Bothy
The Bothy is a luxurious 4* cottage set in the grounds of historic Minterne House. Renowned as one of the most fascinating homes in Dorset, Minterne House brings together design trends from the Georgian and Elizabethan eras. Blending these styles with just a hint of gothic architecture, Minterne House is truly unique and eye-catching. The apartment presents a unique opportunity to join the current owner, Lord Henry Digby, in this incredible country manor.
The Pool House
A home away from home, the Pool House at Minterne Magna is a unique property that’s ideal for a relaxed getaway. Set overlooking Minterne’s heated outdoor swimming pool and tennis court, this cosy two-storey cottage is set within the beautiful grounds of Minterne House, with nature all around. With your own private entrance, plus access to the renowned Himalayan gardens, this dog-friendly property offers everything you need to enjoy a tranquil and peaceful holiday.
